Yoni steaming can be a great benefit to you. The only thing that we ask is that you are not on your period and we encourage you to ask as many questions as you would like about your steam session. While you are steaming you may feel sweat coming from your vagina and that's the power of the steam, its cleansing the vaginal skin, vaginal tissues and going inside the bloodstream. There are sometimes when after you steam, you may feel your uterus contracting but that is due to the herbal steam that has travelled into the vaginal canal into the cervix and up inside of the uterus. You will not see anything come out unless there is an active infection present. If you have an active infection, the discharge will fall into the bowl and it is my recommendation that you continue to steam until all of the discharge, swelling and inflammation has subsided. If you have a lot of old blood residue inside of you, due to dry cramping and seeing dark brown blood or irregular periods, you may get an increase in cramps when your next period comes. If you steam within a week or so of your period being due, the steam may bring down your period due to the fact that you are at your last stage of your cycle before your menstruation begins. You may also see an increase in your sex drive due to the herbal steam and the heat that brings circulation. Also, if you are on birth control, steaming penetrates the mucus wall that has been created by birth control. After steaming, I recommend using a backup form of birth control for up to two weeks to prevent pregnancy. When it comes to how often you should do it, it all depends on what's going on with you and so when you come in we will go over how often you should steam. Steaming once a month will have great benefit to you and some may need to steam more often than once a month due to their period or if they have a yeast infection.
